On 26 December 2019, the 120th birth anniversary of Shaheed Udham Singh celebrated in India.
Shaheed Udham Singh was an Indian freedom fighter belonging to Ghadar Party. He was born in 1899 in the Sangrur district of Punjab.
Shaheed Udham Singh is known for his assassination of Michael O'Dwyer in London, on 13 March 1940. Michael O'Dwyer was responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. As revenge, he was killed by Udham Singh.
Michael O'Dwyer was an Irish Indian Civil Service officer and during 1913 and 1919 he was the former lieutenant governor of Punjab in British India.
