Correct Answer - Option 3 : Statement 1 and 3 are correct

Given:

a, b, c, d, e and f are six consecutive odd numbers in ascending order.

Formula used:

Average = Sum of all numbers/Number of terms

Calculation:

Let the value of a, b, c, d, e and f be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 respectively.

Average = (1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9 + 11)/6

= 36/6

= 6

Statement 1:

Average = a + 5 = 1 + 5 = 6

Hence, statement 1 is correct.

Statement 2:

Average = b + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5

Hence, statement 2 is incorrect.

Statement 3:

Average = e - 3 = 9 - 3 = 6

Hence, statement 3 is correct.

∴ Statement 1 and 3 are correct.
