Best answer

In ∆ XYZ, Base = YZ,

Height (XL) = 3 cm,

Area of the XYZ = 12 sq cm

Area of the ∆XYZ = \(\frac {1}2\) × base × height

\(\frac {1}2\) × YZ × XL

⇒ 12 = \(\frac {1}2\) × YZ × 3

⇒ YZ = 12 × \(\frac {2}3\)

So, YZ = 8 cm
