When Mrs. Slater is sure about the death of her father, she tries to grab all the essentials of her father first. She did not wait to catch hold of grandfather’s slippers and bring down the bureau from his room. Then she turns her attention to his insurance policy. She doesn’t want anyone to come there before she takes everything in her possession. She has no sympathy for anyone.
