Two broad categories of bhakti
i. Saguna bhakti- Tradition that focused on the worship of specific deities as Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and his avatars, and forms of goddesses or devis often conceptualized in anthromorphic forms.
ii. Nirguna bhakti - worship of an abstract form of god
