Best answer

Mn → Mn+2 + 2e-

Zn → Zn+2 + 2e-

The electronic configuration of Mn+2 = [Ar] 3d5

and Zn+2 = [Ar] 3d10

due to the formation of half filled (Mn+2) d-subshell and full filled (Zn+2) d-subshell.

half filled and full filled d-subshell has some greater stability than as expected.

because of that Mn & Zn have more negative reduction potential value as expected.
