ABCD is a square of area of 4 square units which is divided into 4 non overlapping triangles as shown in figure, then sum of perimeters of the triangles so formed is

(1) 8(2 + √2)

(2) 8(1 + √2)

(3) 4(1 + √2)

(4) 4(2 + √2)

(2) 8(1 + √2)

AB = BC = CD = DA = 2cm

AC = BD = 2√2 

∴ AO = BO = CO = DO = √2 

∴ Sum of perimeter = (2 + √2 + √2) x 4

= 8 + 8√2

= 8(1 + √2)
