Given below are two statements.

Statement I: O2, Cu2+ and Fe3+ are weakly attracted by magnetic field and are magnetized in the same direction as magnetic field.

Statement II: NaCl and H2O are weakly magnetized in opposite direction to magnetic field. In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer form the options given below:

(A) Both Statement I and Statement II are correct.

(B) Both Statement I and Statement II are incorrect.

Correct option is (A) Both Statement I and Statement II are correct.

O2, Cu2+ and Fe3+ are paramagnetic,

∴ Weakly attracted by magnetic field.

NaCl and H2O are diamagnetic, 

∴ Weakly repelled by magnetic field.
