The ordinate of a point A on the y−axis is 5 and B has coordinates (−3,1), then find the length of AB.

Given that,

A is on y−axis with ordinate of 5

⇒A is (0,5) and B is (−3,1)

Length of AB = Distance between their co-ordinates

\(\sqrt{(0-(-3))^2 + (5-1)^2}\) 

= 5 units
