If (1/a), (1/b), (1/c) are in arithmetic sequence, then the line (x/a) + (y/b) + (1/c) = 0 passes through the fixed point……

Best answer

The correct option (d) (1, – 2)

Explanation:

(1/a), (1/b), (1/c) are in A.P.

∴ (2/b) = (1/a) + (1/c)

lines: (x/a) + (y/b) + (1/c) = 0

∴ (x/a) + (y/b) + (2/b) – (1/a) = 0

∴ (1/a)(x – 1) + (1/b)[y – (– 2)] = 0

 ∴ line passes through (+ 1, – 2)
