A magnetic dipole is a pair of magnetic poles as the dimensions of source are reduced to zero keeping the magnetic moment constant.

Magnetic Dipole Moment is is a vector quantity and can be defined as the magnetic strength (force) exerted by a magnet or a current carrying loop in terms of torque on electric current carrying components. It directed from south pole to north pole of a magnet.
