Best answer

m moles of H+ from HCl = 0.04 × 600 = 24

m moles of H+ from H2SO4 = 0.02 × 2 × 400 = 16

Total m moles of H+ = 24 + 16 = 40

Final volume of solution = 1000 mL

\(x = [H^+] = \frac{40}{1000} = 0.04 M\)

pH = – log 0.04 = 1.4
