Should Smoking be Banned ?
Awareness in the world has grown today to condemn smoking because it is injurious to health. It should be banned completely. Most glaring fact is that smoking is dangerous to health. It causes heart disease, bronchitis, lung cancer, etc. A further issue is that smoking costs government millions of rupees to treat the patients for smoking related problems. There is also concern today about passive smoking. Recent research has shown that non-smokers can suffer health problems if they spend long periods of time among the active smokers (people who smoke).
In general, the world would be a better place without cigarettes. However, the decision as to whether to smoke or not should be for each individual to make. The people employed in the tobacco industry can be given employment opportunities in some other fields so that they could easily quit this industry. Without imposing ban on smoking, it is almost impossible to keep people away from smoking.
