The title of the story is apt. The story depicts the immense love of Mrs Pumphrey for her dog Tricki. She ruins his health by overfeeding him. His deteriorating condition compels Mrs Pumphrey to seek the help of a vet named James. The doctor realizes that it was the extra meals and lack of exercise that made him vomit and also lazy. The treatment Tricki received was quite natural. The doctor gave him little to eat and a lot of exercise, Gradually Tricki became friendly with other dogs. He started running around merrily.
