(a) Hardening of clay
Hardening of a clay takes place at 500°C. At this temperature, an irreversible chemical change takes place. Water molecules from the clay get removed and clay becomes hard. Whereas shaping a wet clay, heating a metal rod and boiling of water are reversible and involves physical changes.
