Solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more substances in same or different physical phases.
The substances forming the solution are called components of the solution. The solution of salt in water, the solution of sugar in water, etc. are the examples of solution.
In a solution the substance presents in smaller amount is called solute.
The substance presents in larger amount is called solvent.
A solution containing only one solute dissolved in a solvent is called binary solution.
