 TRANSPIRATION GUTTATION
Loss of water in vapour form. Loss of water in liquid form.
Water doesn't contain any dissolved solutes. Water contain many dissolved solutes.
It occurs during daytime. It occurs during the night or early morning hours.
It is a rapid process. It is a slow process.
It occurs through stomata. It occurs through hydathodes.
Increased transpiration causes wilting. Increased guttation is related to low transpiration and high root pressure, not wilting.

Transpiration and guttation are the two important process of removal of excess water from the plants. However, the two processes are different from each other. Transpiration is the removal of water from the stomata present on the leaves. On the contrary, guttation is the process of removal of water from the hydathodes.
