On heating any substance the following effects may take place.
1. Rise in temperature of the substance.
2. The substance may melt or vaporise i.e. change in state of substance, solid becomes liquid and liquid becomes gas.
3. Change in colour of a substance.
4. Change in size and shape of a substance.
5. Increase in pressure of the substance.
