Given, 5 x 10-3kg of urea of dissolved in 2 x 10-3kg of water. calculate the percent by mass of urea.

total mass = mass of urea + mass of water

total mass = 5 x 10-3 kg + 2 x 10-3 kg

total mass = 7 x 10-3 kg

We can calculate the percent by mass of urea by dividing the mass of urea by the total mass and multiplying by 100

% by mass of urea = (mass of urea/total mass) x 100

% by mass of urea = (5 x 10-3 kg / 7 x 10-3 kg ) x 100

% by mass of urea = 71.43%

Therefore, the percent by mass of urea in the solution is 71.43%.
