Horizontal distribution of power refers to that sharing of power that happens among the various organs present in the government. The power gets shared among various organs or sectors such as legislatures, the executive, and the judiciary. It is known as the horizontal distribution of power as it gives permissions to various organs of the government which are kept at the same level so that they can make use of the different types of powers assigned to them.
Horizontal distribution of power is very helpful as it helps in separating the powers into the different organs of the government which results in inequality and it gives us a surety that no organ will get unlimited power. Every organ checks each other. This arrangement has come to be known as a system of checks and balances.
