(a) The value of Ea will be lower as the threshold energy for the formation of intermediate activated complex is less.

A catalyst does not alter Gibbs energy, ΔG of a reaction. ΔG value is independent of the path taken as Gibbs free energy is a state function and not a path function

(b) Activation energy and proper orientation of the molecules
