यदि रेखा \(\overrightarrow{r}=(\hat{i}-2\hat{j}+\hat{k})\) + \(\lambda(2\hat{i}+\hat{j}+2\hat{k})\) और समतल  \(\overrightarrow{r}.(3\hat{i}-2\hat{j}+m\hat{k})\) = 3 के समान्तर हो तो m का मान ज्ञात कीजिए।

दी गई रेखा \(\overrightarrow{r}\) = (i - 2j + k) + λ(2i + j + 2k) के समान्तर सदिश \(\overrightarrow{b}\) = 2i + j + 2k और समतल \(\overrightarrow{r}\). (3i - 2j + mk) = 3 में अभिलम्ब सदिश  \(\overrightarrow{n}\). 3i - 2j + mk है।

चूँकि दी गई रेखा, समतल के समान्तर है अतः

\(\overrightarrow{b}\perp\overrightarrow{n}\)

\(\overrightarrow{b}.\overrightarrow{n}\) = 0

⇒ (2i + j + 2k).(3i – 2j + mk) = 0

⇒ 2 x 3 + 1 x – 2 x m = 0

⇒ 6 – 2 + 2m = 0

⇒ 4 + 2m = 0

⇒ m = – 2
