I think, Bholi could never have confidently refused to marry Bishamber if she weren't educated. This is because in the marriage ceremony Bishamber demanded dowry from Bholi's father which is considered illegal. If Bholi would have been uneducated then she would never have been able to speak against this ill practice as she might not have knowledge. Also education gave her confidence to speak boldly in front of everyone.
