Statement 1 : Organic compounds which do not contain chiral carbon atoms cannot be optically active. 

Statement 2 : An organic compound is optically active only when its mirror image is non-superimposable irrespective of the fact ether it contains a chiral carbon atom or not.

(A) If both Statement 1 and Statement 2 are true and the Statement 2 is correct explanation of Statement 1. 

(B) If both Statement 1 and Statement 2 are true but Statement 2 is not correct explanation of the Statement 1. 

(C) If Statement 1 is true but the Statement 2 is false. 

(D) If Statement 1 is false but Statement 2 is true.
