Hydride exchange reaction among ethanol and CH3COCH3  was done over MgO With the assistance of an assortment of data concerning the enduring state energy, the measure of adsorbed species present under the steady condition of the response. The reaction will be endothermic. No strong attractive forces present between them. Hence , the temperature is decreased.

CH3OH + CH3COCH3 → CH3CHO + (CH3)2CHOH
