(i) Hostel Life:
Hostel life does not have homely comforts but it has several advantages. It forms healthy habits and provides great facilities for studies. The students living in a hostel are not free to do whatever they like. They have to follow a fixed routine. They have to study at fixed times. The students learn a lot about human nature and social life as they live with fellow students from different social backgrounds. They share the joys and sorrows of one another. Hostel life develops moral qualities which prove very useful in later life. It strengthens character and lays the foundation of good citizenship. It teaches the virtures of love and co- operation, which last throughout life. It provides proper atmosphere for the development of personality. Hostel life is very cheerful. The boarders hold cultural functions in the hostel. They stage dramas, recite poems and read out short stories at these functions. They take part in debates and indoor games. These co-curricular activities prepare the boarders for their life in the future.
(ii) A village fair:
The village market is a very important place where people gather to buy and sell different things. People of that village and from the nearby villages come to the market for the needful. The village-market has few permanent shops and most of the shops come from outside. Many shopkeepers put their articles on the ground to sell them to the buyers. The goods sold in the market include grains, vegetable, fish, ordinary cloth, utensils, stationary, sweets, agricultural implements etc. There is a lot of noise in the village market. It is really a problem to buy good in their real price due to much bargaining. The person who visits the market for the first time may easily be cheated. Though the market is full of noise, dust and unpeaceful atmosphere, still it is most useful place to the villagers for sell and purchase of different articles.
(iii) Pollution:
We are living in an age of pollution. Everything around us is polluted. The air we breathe in, the food we eat, the water we drink, all are polluted. But the most dangerous type of pollution today is environmental pollution. This is the worst danger that man faces today. Scientist and biologists have listed the dangers of environmental pollution. The fallout from nuclear testing increases the incidence of cancer. The widespread use of insecticides and nitrogen fertilizers has contaminated food and surface waters. The increasing use of synthetic detergents has contaminated water supplies. Thus pollution in environment has endangered the very existence of all life forms including human.
