What steps would you take if an EBS volume becomes unresponsive?

1. Check CloudWatch Metrics: Look for high latency, high queue length, or insufficient IOPS.
2. Detach and Reattach: Detach the volume and then reattach it to the instance.

   aws ec2 detach-volume --volume-id vol-1234567890abcdef0
   aws ec2 attach-volume --volume-id vol-1234567890abcdef0 --instance-id i-1234567890abcdef0 --device /dev/sdf 

3. Stop and Start Instance: If detaching and reattaching doesn't work, try stopping and starting the instance.

   aws ec2 stop-instances --instance-ids i-1234567890abcdef0
   aws ec2 start-instances --instance-ids i-1234567890abcdef0 

4. Restore from Snapshot: If the volume remains unresponsive, consider restoring from the latest snapshot.

   aws ec2 create-volume --snapshot-id snap-1234567890abcdef0 --availability-zone us-west-2a
   aws ec2 attach-volume --volume-id vol-abcdef1234567890 --instance-id i-1234567890abcdef0 --device /dev/sdf
