Self inductance of a solenoid (inductor) coil is L and is assume that each turn is perfectly coupled with all the other terms .Now it is cut into two equal parts with the length of each part is half that of original coil then self inductance of each part is

When a solenoid is cut into two equal parts, each having half the length of the original, the self-inductance of each part is reduced to a quarter of the original self-inductance. Thus, the self-inductance of each part will be \( L/4 \).
