To add your SSH key to GitHub:

  1. Copy the SSH key to your clipboard. You can use cat to display the key and then copy it manually, or use pbcopy (macOS) or xclip (Linux) to copy it directly:

    cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub

    or

    pbcopy < ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
  2. Go to GitHub and log in to your account.

  3. Navigate to Settings > SSH and GPG keys.

  4. Click New SSH key.

  5. In the "Title" field, add a descriptive label for the new key (e.g., "My Laptop").

  6. Paste the SSH key into the "Key" field.

  7. Click Add SSH key.
