For equilibrium of O,

T sin 30° = Mg ..........(1)

and T cosθ = T1 ........(2)

∴ From equations (1) and (2),

tan 30° = \(\frac{Mg}{T_1}\)

A mass M is hung by a unstretchable string

or  \(\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}} = \frac{Mg}{T_1}\)

or \(T_1 = Mg\sqrt{3}\)
