Best answer

m1r1 = m2r2

the distance between carbon and oxygen atoms

\(\therefore\ 12\times x = 16(1.15-x)\)

3x = 4(1.15 - x)

or 3x = 4.60 - 4x

7x = 4.60

∴ x = \(\frac{460}{7}\) = 0.6571 Å

or x = 0.6571 Å
