If a gas present in a closed container at 1 atm pressure and 30°C is heated to 333°C what will be the pressure at the new temperature ?

According to Gay Lussac Law, at constant volume, pressure of a gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, i.e. PT (V being constant)

Thus \(\frac{P_1}{T_1} = \frac{P_2}{T_2}\)

\(\frac 1{303} = \frac {P_2}{606}\)

\(\therefore P_2=\) 2 atm
