In second group, H2S is passed in the presence of dil. HCl because

(a) HCl checks incomplete precipitation of higher group radicals.

Correct option is (a) HCl checks incomplete precipitation of higher group radicals. 

Due to common ion effect , the ionization of H2S is suppressed by HCl and only II group basic radicals are precipitated. Higher groups are not precipitated.
