On standing near the sea-shore a man sees that in 1 minute 70 waves reach at the shore. If the wavelength is 12 m, then find out their velocity.

Given: Frequency v = \(\frac{70}{60} = \frac{7}{6}\)= Hz; λ = 12 m

v = ?

∵ v = nλ

\(\therefore\ v = \frac{7}{6}\times12 = 14\ m\ s^{-1} \)

or v = 14 ms-1
