Given System of equation are

2x + y = 13     .......(i)

4x - y = 17      ........(ii)

Now adding both the equation will have

6x = 30

x = \(\frac {30}{6} \) = 5

Now substituting x = 5 in the equation (i)

2x + y = 13

2(5) + y = 13

10 + y = 13

y = 13 - 10

\(\therefore\)  y = 3

Now substituting x = 5 and y  = 3 in (x - y)

= 5 - 3

= 2

YashikaPatil, hello

Solving the system of equations we get that x = 5 and y = 3.

Therefore, x - y = 2
