Best answer

Correct option is (1) 0.1

Given,

u = 5.6 ms-1

s = 16 m

To find:

μ = ?

The coefficient of friction between the surface and object is that the value that describes the ratio of the force of friction between two bodies and the force pressing them together.

We know that,

\(u = \sqrt {2 \mu gs}\)

u = velocity of moving object

g = acceleration due to gravity

s = distance covered by the object

μ = coefficient of friction

Put the values in the above equation, we get

\(5.6 = \sqrt {2 \times \mu \times 9.81 \times 16}\)

squaring on both sides

31.36 = 313.92 μ

\(\therefore\) μ = 0.09989

μ = 0.1
