How Many Attempts Are Allowed for NEET? Good News for Aspiring Doctors!

If you're preparing for the NEET 2025 Exam, here’s great news for you: There is no limit on the number of attempts you can take for the NEET UG exam! In previous years, there were rules limiting attempts and even an upper age cap, but these restrictions have been lifted.

NEET Registration 2025: Important Info

When it’s time to register for NEET 2025, make sure you’re aware of these key requirements:

  • Minimum Age: You need to be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the year you’re applying for admission.
  • Education: To be eligible, you must have completed (or be completing) your 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).

Once registration opens, don’t delay—apply early to ensure your spot!

No More Upper Age Limit or Attempt Limit – What Does This Mean?

In the past, there was a 25-year age limit for unreserved category candidates and a cap on the number of attempts. However, since 2017, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have scrapped both of these restrictions. Now, as long as you meet the minimum age and education criteria, you can take the NEET exam as many times as you want—no matter your age!
