The features of alluvial soils are:-

(1) Alluvial soil as a whole is very fertile

(2) These soils contain adequate proportion of Potash, Lime and Phosphoric acid.

(3) Silk, clay, gravel and sand the mainconstituents of alluvial soil.

(4) It is commonly found in riverbed and flood plains.

(5) According to age, thealluvial soil is classified as Bangar (oldalluvial) and Khadar (new alluvial).
