Find the area enclosed by each of the following figures:

(i) Area = area of □AEDC+ area of △ABC [ref. image (i) ]

= 4 × 4 + 1/2 × 4 × 2 

= 16 + 4 

= 20 cm² 

(ii) Area = are of trapezium DEFC + area of □ABCF [ref. image (ii)]

= 8/2 × (7 + 18) + 18 × 18 

= 4 × 25 + 18 × 18

= 100 + 324

= 424 cm² 

(iii) Area = area of trapezium EDAF + area of □ABCD[ ref. image (iii)]

= 8/2 × (6 + 20) + 20 × 20

= 4 × 26 + 400

= 104 + 400

= 504 cm²
