Given below are two statements:

Statement (I) : Vanillin Vanillin will react with NaOH and also with Tollen's reagent.

Statement (II) : Vanillin Vanillin will undergo self aldol condensation very easily. 

In the light of the above statement, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:

Correct option is: (2) Statement I is correct but Statement II is incorrect

Vaniliin

Vanillin does not give self - aldol reaction due to lack of acidic H for condensation.
