There are two narrow holes in the wall of a vessel filled with water at a distance of 50 cm. The area of cross-section of each hole is 0.2 sq. cm; calculate the distance of the point of intersection of their streams if 140 cm3 of water is filled in the vessel in every second.

Let M and N be the two holes.

If x is the distance of the point of intersection then,

x = v1 t1 = v2 t2
