=(2.83 x 10-19 ÷ 16 x 10-19) eV = 1.76 eV

परन्तु यहाँ सोडियम का कार्य फलन W = 2.0 eV 

चूंकि E < w 

इसलिए 7000 तरंगदैर्घ्य का प्रकाश सोडियम के पृष्ठ से इलेक्ट्रॉन उत्सर्जित नहीं कर सकेगा।
