Draw a graph showing the variation of potential energy betwen a pair of nucleons as a function of their separation. Indicate the regions in which the nucleus force is (i) attractive, (ii) repulsive. Write two important conclusions which you can draw regarding the nature of the nuclear forces.

Part AB represents repulsive force and Part BCD represents attractive force. 

Conclusions : 

(1) Nuclear forces are attractive and stronger, then electrostatic force. 

(2) Nuclear forces are charge-independent.
