Principle of superposition of electric fields-The electric intensity at a point due to seeral charges is the vector sum of electric intensities produced by each charge indiduably in the absence of other charges.

are the electric field intensities due to individual charges an vector  is the resultant intensity, then according to principles.

where ∑ vector Em, n = 1, 2, 3,....

Here vector En is the field intensity of a given point due to nth point charge.
