Best answer

For MnO4- + H2C2O4 → Mn2+ + CO2;

here

∴ 5e- + MnO4- → Mn2+ + 4H2O

and 8H+ + 5e- MnO4- → Mn2+ + 4H2O    ....(i)

In H2C2O4 → CO2

here

∴ H2C2O4 → 2CO2 + 2e-

H2C2O4 → 2CO2 + 2H+ + 2e-  ...(ii)

Multiplying equation (i) by 2 and (ii) by 5 and adding (i) and (ii)

2MnO4- + 6H+ + 5H2C2O4 → 10CO2 + 2Mn2+ + 8H2O
