H₀ : I. Q. of students before and after training is same (i.e., µ₁ = µ₂) (Lower tailutest)

H₁ : I.Q. of students has improved (µ₁ = µ₂). ; {Lower tail test} 

Under H₀, the test statistic is –

Let x and y be the I.Q. before after training

t_cal =0.8351

At α = 5.1 for (n – 1) = 5 – 1 

= 4 d.f the lower tail critical value -k = -3175

Here tcal lies in acceptance region (AR)

∴ H₀ is accepted conclusion : µ₁ = µ₂
