The bar graph represents the number of people migrating from villages to cities in the past few decades. The statistics show a steady increase from 1970 to 2000. The number of people migrating from villages to cities in the year 1970 was 40 lakhs and it became double in 1980. It increased to 120 lakhs in 1990 and reached a peak of 140 lakhs in 200. The reason for migration from villages to cities might be failure in agriculture, fragmentation of joint families, low profit etc. It is very clear that we now find a decrease in migration. It was 100 lakhs in the year 2008. The Government might have taken some measures to stop people migrating from villages to cities. However it is a major problem. Hence the Government should take necessary action to limit this.
