Let(17)1/2 = x

Taking log on both sides,

log (17)1/2 = logx

⇒ log1/2 = logx

⇒ 1/2 log17 = log x

⇒ log x = 0.6152

Taking antilog on both sides,

antilog (log x) = antilog 0.6152

⇒ x = 4.123

Hence, (17)1/2 = 4.123
