Clean India Drive
Clean India Drive or Mission is a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It is launched by the Indian government. Its aim is to cover the 4041 statutory towns for the cleanliness of streets, roads and infrastructure of the country. Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi launched this mission on 2nd October (the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi) in 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi (Bapu’s Samadhi Sthal)
On the day of launching the event PM himself had cleaned the road. It is the biggest cleanliness drive ever in India. Approximately, three million government employees including students from different schools and colleges participated in the cleanliness activities. On the same day, the PM nominated nine people to participate in the drive in their own areas. He also requested each of those nine nominees to call another nine people to participate as well as continue the chain of calling nine people by each and every participant. It should continue until the message reaches to every Indian in every corner of the country. We have to make it a national mission.
Its mission is to join each and every Indian from all walks of life. Swachh Bharat Mission aims to construct individual sanitary toilets for household purposes. It is to create awareness among people especially living under the poverty line.
The main objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are removing the trend of open defecation, bringing behavioural changes among people, and enhance awareness about sanitation, etc.
स्वच्छ भारत अभियान
Clean India Drive एक स्वच्छ भारत अभियान है। इसे भारत सरकार द्वारा आरम्भ किया गया है। इसका लक्ष्य है। भारत के 4041 शहरों व कस्बों को गलियों, सड़कों व देश के infrastructure को सफाई हेतु इस अभियान में सम्मिलित करना। प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने 2 अक्टूबर (महात्मा गाँधी का जन्म दिवस) 2014 को दिल्ली के राजघाट (बापू का समाधिस्थल) पर इसका शुभारम्भ किया था।
शुभारम्भ दिवस पर स्वयं प्रधानमंत्री ने सड़क पर सफाई की। भारत में यह स्वच्छता का अब तक का सबसे बड़ा अभियान है। लगभग तीस लाख सरकारी कर्मचारियों और विभिन्न स्कूल व कॉलेजों के विद्यार्थियों ने इस स्वच्छता अभियान में हिस्सा लिया। इसी दिन प्रधानमंत्री ने नौ लोगों को अपने-अपने क्षेत्रों में इस सफाई अभियान में भाग लेने हेतु नामित किया और उन्होंने उन सभी नौ लोगों से आग्रह किया कि उनमें से प्रत्येक सदस्य अन्य नौ-नौ लोगों को इस स्वच्छता अभियान में हिस्सा लेने के लिये नामित कर इस श्रृंखला को आगे बढ़ायें। स्वच्छता का संदेश जब तक देश के कोने-कोने में प्रत्येक भारतवासी तक नहीं पहुँच जाता तब तक यह अभियान जारी रहेगी।
इस मिशन (अभियान) का उद्देश्य है जीवन के प्रत्येक क्षेत्र से प्रत्येक भारतवासी को इस अभियान से जोड़ना। स्वच्छ भारत मिशन का उद्देश्य है प्रत्येक घर में शौचालय का निर्माण करवाना। यह अभियान लोगों में विशेषरूप से गरीब वर्ग में जागरुकता (स्वच्छता के प्रति) उत्पन्न करने के लिये है।
स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के मुख्य उद्देश्य हैं-खुले में शौच की आदत को समाप्त करना, लोगों में व्यवहार सम्बन्धी (स्वच्छता के प्रति) परिवर्तन लाना और स्वच्छता के विषय में जागरुकता लाना इत्यादि।
