Let the coordinate of point B is (x, y)

Let the point P(3, 5) divides the line segment joining the points A(-2, 3) and B(x, y) internally in the in the ratio 4 : 7.

So, x1 = -2,     y1 = 3       m1 = 4

x2 = x       y2 = y        m2 = 7

By section formula

Hence, the co-ordinate of point B is (47/4, 17/2)
